Authorize an Easement to the City of Lakeland as requested for public water utilities, Southern Avenue property (Tri-County). (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
Tri-County Human Services, Inc., (“Tri-county”) currently leases the northern portion, and building, of a County owned property located at 1200 Southern Avenue in the Lakeland Area for use as a licensed Level-2 and Level-3 residential program facility. Tri-County was required to make improvements and upgrades to the facility including the fire suppression system to accommodate its program. As part of the upgrades to the fire suppression system Tri-County was required to make upgrades to the water service, through the City of Lakeland, supplying the facility. The City has requested an easement over a portion of the County owned property adjacent to Southern Avenue, containing approximately 660 square feet, to accommodate the backflow preventer associated with the water facilities and has presented an Easement document for review and approval. Authorizing the Easement will satisfy the City’s requirements regarding the upgraded water service which will allow Tri-County to utilize the facility for its programs.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the aforementioned Easement to the City of Lakeland.
